I guess since we have freedom with topic choice, I'm going to rant about some stuff that I've been talking to some people about. I've been part of an online chat for a while now and have had some pretty interesting conversations and debates. I wasn't part of the original discussion but I joined in regardless. When I entered, one of my friends was saying how he felt that in order for a person to be completely noble, they could not let their environment effect them in any negative way nor could they use their environment as an excuse for their actions. I thought about this before coming to the conclusion that he was partially right. I feel that people who come from "bad" backgrounds and who use that background as an excuse for their own mistakes is a pathetic person. My friend and I both agree that there is no limit to apathy. That means that there is no limit to a person's ability to not care. Now I understand that somebody while reading this is probably saying something about how that isn't true but to be completely honest, it is. Now I'm not saying that it is easy to be apathetic about things and some people aren't apathetic about certain things because society has set its own group of normal emotions. My example for my friend was how people are expected to be sad about a death in their family but it isn't impossible to feel apathetic about it. From there he and I went on to talk about theories and how nothing can really be proven. Looking back I know we made a mistake in our talking saying that literally nothing could be proven. If he were here he would comment on how you can't prove that I am even writing this or that I even exist. Though I'm sure we all know that in the reality that we perceive, I do exist and am typing this. We continued on by explaining how things such as 1+1=2 cannot be proven because there is always an exception or an alternative theory that changes the supposed fact that 1+1=2. By having even one error with a theory, the theory cannot become a true fact. There are ways to make 1+1=3. These alternative theories make other theories false while the originals make the alternative false. It is a circle which cannot be fixed. I realize some don't agree, others refuse to agree or don't understand enough to agree but I know that if everybody gave this enough open-minded thought, everybody would agree that nothing can be proven. For all we know the world as we see it is nothing more than a dream in a very long slumber of another person. This can't be proven but neither can the theory that is the world as we know it. And as for a little random thinking a great video that explains the universe. (I realize that it is semi-long but it is incredible to perceive anything the way that this video explains the universe)

*I sit in my expensive leather chair, drink from my glass of "non-carbonated pink lemonade", and talk in a sophisticated voice*:
ReplyDelete"That was an interesting converstion we had about this yesterday. I look forward to our next. Mmm-yes. Indeed..."
Ha! Seriously, whenever I drink lemonade I'm going to laugh now.
