Ugh new president
Now let me get this out there before I get shot at by all the Obama enthusiasts: I don't dislike president Obama for any reason other than his policies and I don't dislike all of his policies. I just feel that certain policies aren't good and will directly effect my family in a negative way. I feel that his policy on taxing families and small businesses that make more than $250,000 per year is just dumb. Why tax the people who made something of themselves more? I understand the need to tax people based on income but to increase the amount that people in that tax bracket must pay is a bit annoying. For a small business, $250,000 is not that much money. Lets take a look at a single business, Subway for example, and remove the fact that it is a chain business and look at only one of their stores. The average sub that is not a $5 footlong is about $6.50. So lets take the cost of each of the things that you put on that sub which is about $3-4. Then lets take the price of a drink which I will be generous and say $1.79 for a small. The cost of the cup and the soda is about $.25 if that. Now ignoring everything else for the moment, a person who buys a regular footlong sub and a small drink pays about $8.29 and it costs subway no more than $4.25 for all of that. They make about twice you pay. So lets assume that subway makes 80 subs a day about 360 days a year and sells 80 drinks. 80 X 360 X 8.29 = $238,752. Just so everybody is aware that was only drinks and subs and they were low estimates. That is why the taxing policy is not a good idea. Maybe we should drop welfare. Maybe we should let the people who really did mess up not have a free ride through life. I'm not saying don't help those who truly cannot help themselves (handicapped etc.) but lets stop helping these scumbags buy beer and pay for cable just so they can ignore helping society. Now I will say that I like president Obama's public works program. By creating jobs, he is planning on stimulating the economy which is good. By forcing the economy back into motion, things can and will start to get better. He has good thoughts in that aspect because that is how we got out of the depression (that and the war). To be completely honest those are the only two things I really have paid any attention to because they will both effect me. I figure we will just have to see how things turn out because there isn't any changing things now.

Hey I was going to talk about Obama's tax policies in my blog, but you've got it pretty well covered here.
ReplyDeleteWho drew the imaginary line that makes someone 'rich'?
Well there are tax brackets but still the tax bracket that he is starting at is rather low (comparitive to the average).
ReplyDeleteDid you get that background from WhateverLife.com? JK. Taxes seem to be a major issue with Obama's picks for his cabinet. Cheaters everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you for the most part, but like a middle class family like myself, we make MAYBE $50,000 a year and we get taxed over 15,000. I'm sorry but for us, every dollar counts. People who make more money technically should pay more taxes. It's not that you better yourselves, my family loves what they do and wouldn't give it up for the world, just your job payes more. Even with sales tax 0.08% the more things get expensive, the bigger the tax. Just to make a point.
ReplyDeleteFact: Most welfare recipients are non-black, adult and on welfare less than two years.
